Faith United Methodist Church of Grain Valley

We will be making HEALTH KITS for Church World service, as they are badly needed. Many have been sent to disaster areas during 2008. Kentucky during ice storms and Iowa from flooding.

In the face of natural disasters, violence, or poverty, these kits can mean the difference between sickness and health for family members.

Items for health kit are below.

HEALTH KIT

• 1 hand towel
• 1 sturdy comb
• 1 metal nail file or nail clipper with file
• 1 washcloth
• 6 Band-Aids
• 1 bar of soap (bath size in wrapper)
• 1 toothbrush (in original package)

Small quilts or blankets are always needed and welcome to be placed in Backpacks of Love.

The remaining paver stones have been ordered for the Memorial Garden. Jack Pittman will be recruiting a crew to work on installing the stones sometime in September. We have also received orders for 7 additional memorial stones that will be installed when they are received later in the fall.

If you would like to have a stone with the name of a loved one placed in the memorial garden, the cost remains $50. The pastor can assist you in ordering a stone.

We would like to have this project completed in the early fall.

Last year the children of the Sunday School Class assembled 68 boxes but their goal for 2009 is a bigger blessing.  Thanks for your help and support of our continued effort for Christmas 2009.
